IN-HOME RESPITE
This program provides a substitute caregiver in the home so that parents/caregivers
are offered a "time out". Parents/caregivers are then able to focus
more readily on their own needs with the assurance that their family
member is well cared for.

RECREATION RESPITE (After School Program)
This program offers individuals a structured fun-filled learning environment.
Participants have an opportunity to increase their communication,
socialization, interpersonal, and educational skills through sports,
games, arts and crafts, music, and other recreational activities.
This program is located in the Dryden Street School in Westbury. Hours of operation are Tuesday,
Wednesday, and Friday from 3:15 PM - 6:00 PM. Transportation to the site maybe
provided by the school district. Parents or caregivers are responsible for picking up their participants
promptly at 6:00 PM.
REQUIREMENTS

Diagnosed with a developmental disability, i.e. mental retardation, CP, PDD, etc. |
| Indendent in ADL skills; i.e. using lavatory independent. |
 | No major behavior issues; i.e. aggressive behavior and wandering. |
| Parents are responsible for picking up their child at the end of the program. WE DO NOT PROVIDE
TRANSPORTATION TO AND/OR FROM THE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM. Arrangements may be made through the local school
district for the child to be transported to the program. |

SATURDAY WEEKEND RESPITE (Recreation Program)
This program provides educational, social, and cultural activities for individuals.
Hours of operation are from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM with focus on community
integration and helping consumers to develop an independent leisure
lifestyle. The program is located at St. Johns Episcopal Church,
536 South Franklin Street, Hempstead, NY 11550.
